We live in the Haute Vienne and so are in the centre of French walking country and lakes. We would like to travel about 100 km in any direction from Marval and stay in your caravan for regular breaks and see more of France, in exchange for you using ours. Charming 2 bedroomed house at Exideuil sur Vienne, Near Chabanais, on the Charente / Limousin border
Retaining many original features it also has the advantages of a new kitchen and shower room. On the Vienne river the village offers fishing, kayaking and the area is ideal for outdoor pursuits such as walking, cycling and bird watching.
House available all year, rates from £250 - £375 per week.

Payment accepted in euros using daily rate at time of booking. Please note there is a refundable breakage deposit of £150

Travel / Distances
Fly to Limoges and hire a car for the 45 minute drive to Exideuil. Flights to Limoges are available from Bournemouth, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Luton and Stansted. The house is about a six hour drive from Caen or eight from Eurotunnel. Happy to help with route, airport and car hire details if required.
Shopping
A five minute stroll over the river brings you into Exideuil village where you will find patisserie, boucherie, epicierie, bar / restaurant and post office. Chabanais, a five minutes drive away, has a variety of shops including SuperU, a good sized modern supermarket . This is a good place to fill up with fuel being very competitively priced. There is also a market in the car park near the river on Thursday mornings.
Eating out
The bar in Exideuil offers a very reasonably priced lunch and has a small terrace at the back where you can sit and think about what to do next. Café Clemence and Vieux Moulin in Chabanais are both well worth a visit, offering lovely food at very good prices. Café Clemence is also open all day for drinks and snacks

Whilst we appreciate that you will take the greatest care whilst staying at the house a “Security Deposit” of £150 is required at the time of booking. Providing that there is no damage to the property or contents this will be returned in full within 7 days following your departure.

Ferme D'Alba - for a truly relaxing holiday in the lovely Charente region of
France - sleeping 8/9.
La Ferme D'Alba is a detached ex goat farm where top quality goats cheese was produced for the local restaurants. The farmhouse is some 200 years old and is full of character. It is in a delightful and peaceful position in Northern Charente bordering the Dordogne and Limousin between Limoges and La Rochefoucauld.
The floors are limestone or polished hardwood
and the property has been tastefully decorated with quality period furniture to
the highest standard. It is well positioned being set within it's own grounds of
2 acres with stunning views towards the Dordogne.
Being a great example of Charentaise architecture, the property is south facing
with thick stone walls. The interior is warm and cozy during winter, yet remains
beautifully cool during the hot summer months.

patio is a "picture" and is a real sun trap and offers total seclusion, it has a
large outside table that seats 6/8 people and is perfect under the Mulberry tree
which provides excellent shade.
There are 5 bikes for the use of guests, (use at own risk), large Barbecue also available as well as a 'chimnea' with good supply of wood to extend your evenings " al fresco".
There is also table tennis, badminton as well as a large paddling pool for children.
There is no television as the owners would like their guests to appreciate the tranquillity of a "TV free zone".
The adjacent Pool has a large terrace with ample loungers/furniture. Pool depth 1m to 2m.

**Various rental possibilities (including long term rental out of season) - large property situated near St Emilion**
Le Moulin du Lary is set in its own 12 acre grounds, secluded from other properties yet situated close to all necessary amenities, shops, banks, bakeries, supermarkets.
The properties can be taken separately, the Farmhouse for parties of up to 12 (or, outside the main season from mid-July to the end of August, for parties of up to 7 at a reduced rental) and the Cottage for up to 4. Both houses can, however, be rented together for larger groups giving a total capacity of up to 16 in one location.
Salon: This is a large, welcoming room (7m.80 by 9m.10) with three French windows, one to the side, facing east, one facing onto the front garden, and one to the rear garden. The front and rear French windows each lead onto a covered, tiled patio. In the room, which has a large open fireplace, there are 2 sofas (one of which is a sofa bed), and 6 arm chairs. There is also a TV (with access to BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, BBC4, ITV3 and many free to view channels) and a Video/DVD.
Small Salon: again off the main salon, this is a 4.75m by 4.90m room for relaxation, away from the television, with access to the hall as well as a door opening onto the front garden.
Kitchen: This is off the Salon and is 4.3m by 3.3 m. Apart from a sink; this also contains a gas hob, an electric oven, microwave cooker, dishwasher and fridge.
Utility Room: Off the kitchen is a small utility room which contains a washing machine, a freezer and is also the home of the water softener.
Toilet: There is a toilet (one of three in the house) on the ground floor, by another outside door which leads to the garden on the Western side of the house.
Hall: This is a passage from the kitchen end of the house to the original front door. In the hall there is also a staircase to the first floor.
Dining Room: Again, off the salon, this is 4.75m by 4.90 m and contains the dining table and chairs, sufficient for 12 people to sit down to a meal.
Bedroom Two: This room has three single beds and is 4.80m by 3.75m with fitted cupboards and a wardrobe. This room faces the east and especially benefits from the morning sun.
Shower Room: This is 3.5m by 2.45 m and contains a shower and a basin.
Bedroom Three: This is a double bedded room, 4.05m by 3.45m. This room faces the front of the house and has French windows to its own veranda. This also contains fitted cupboards.
Toilet: There is a separate toilet between the shower room and Bedroom 4.
Bedroom Four: This room is 4.3m by 5m. This is the room which provides access to the bathroom and bedroom five. (Although access to the bathroom and bedroom five is also available up the stairs in the hall) This room faces the front, and has a double bed and a wardrobe.
Bedroom Five: At the west end of the house, this is a bedroom with 3 single beds, 4.96m by 4m. The windows open to three sides, to the front, the garden and the side overlooking the mill pond and the mill itself. This also contains a chest of drawers and a wardrobe.
The Kitchen Diner (5m, 40 x 5m.60) has a red tiled floor and is accessed from the front garden. The kitchen contains a 4 ring gas hob, electrical oven, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. There is also a dining table and 6 chairs plus sideboard. This room also contains a wood burner in case of a chilly evening.
The Utility Room contains the washing machine, freezer and the hot water heater.
The Shower room (2m, 60 x 2m, 10) contains basin and shower.
The downstairs bedroom, facing the back garden, (6m, 80 x 4m, 70) has basin and bidet with double bed and wardrobes. There is also a French window out to the back garden.
From the Kitchen /diner are the stairs leading to the upstairs bedroom (4m, 80 x 5m, 20) which has windows to the front garden. This bedroom contains two single beds and wardrobes.
The two properties share a 12m x 6m solar heated salt swimming pool.
Situated on the D134, which is accessible from the D910bis between Montguyon (Charente Maritime 17), and Guitres and Coutras (Gironde 33).
The Dordogne is 40 minutes to the east and the coast a couple of
hours to the west. Cercoux (the nearest village – 5 minutes) has
bakeries (one of which delivers to the Moulin) and one which makes “take
away” pizzas, a general store, two garages and a bar/cafe/restaurant “La
Forestièrre”.
We are also willing to discuss longer winter lets where, depending on the length of the stay, and an agreement on the costs of heating, lighting, use of telephone and the like, the costs can, again, be suited to the individual needs of the visitor.

There is one main double bedroom with ensuite bathroom.
Cot available if required.
The lounge area can have an additional single bed and also a single camp bed, if needed.
The little hamlet of La Féolle is surrounded by countryside and in the commune of Blanzay, in the South Vienne region of France.
Transport is advisable due to the rural location of the gite and to be able to see the sites, especially the wonderful Chateaux
Poitiers is 45 minutes drive north, and Limoges airport is about 1 hour and 15 minutes drive south-east. The market town of Civray is only 10 mins. away, and the ‘Valley des Singes’ in Romagne, (a wild monkey park), is also only 10 minutes away. The historic town of Charroux is only 15 minutes away, where there is an 11th. Century abbey.
Futurescope is near to Poitiers. These are just a few of the attractions, as well as good restaurants, and supermarkets etc, not to mention a good bottle of red wine only costing the equivalent of 85p!
Anyone wishing to rent this pretty gite can be sent a map of the immediate area, and some directions.
The price for a holiday let is 250€ per week and includes a welcome pack, sheets, and towels. A 50% deposit is required to secure the booking as we do get very busy in the summer.
