This room has the original stone work exposed on three sides and again a large
beam runs the length of the room. The kitchen is fully fitted, washing machine,
dishwasher, electric cooked, micro wave, toaster, kettle, all cutlery, and
crockery, pots and pans, sink etc. There is a table and chairs in the dinning
room to seat six people and a breakfast bar with stools for less formal eating.
There is a door leading to the rear garden and BBQ area, and the view from this
side of the gite is fabulous. There is another set of stairs leading to the
bathroom and bedroom number 3.

towel rail and the water heater is in this room. This bathroom has two doors one
from bedroom 2 and one from the stairs leading from the kitchen /dinning room,
so you must remember to lock both doors or you may be caught out!!
The Garden. Large area at rear of gite with BBQ facilities, chairs, loungers,
the ideal location to chill out and admire the view over a long cool beer or a
large glass of wine.

Our cosy, oak
beamed cottage is centrally heated (oil) for winter comfort (part double
glazed). For hot summer days throw open the French doors onto the front terrace.
For the ‘inbetween times’ make the most of the sunshine by relaxing in the
shelter of the glazed porch.
Situated
in a tiny, rural, farming hamlet 2 kms from the village of Massignac
which has pharmacy, baker, butcher, grocery shop and bar. The charming medieval
chateau town of Rochechouart with all amenities including restaurants, is
20 minutes drive away. A further 10 minutes brings you to the large, bustling
town of St Junien. This is an up and coming area as typified by the
increase in new restaurants and shops.
Limoges
airport is about an hours drive, serving several UK airports with Ryanair. One
hour in the other direction is pretty Angouleme with TGV station.
Lakes and
beaches are only 10 minutes drive away.
Accommodation
is fully furnished. Large lounge with raised, tiled dining area with French
doors onto the terrace. Utility room with washing machine and w.c. The kitchen
is separate with cooker and fridge/freezer.
Upstairs there
are 2 bedrooms and a large shower room with w.c. One bedroom has double bed and
wardrobe, the other has 2 single beds with chest of draws and hanging space.
The detached
garden is only a few paces away.

Our gite is in a converted barn approximately 500metres above
sea level with beautiful views stretching over the rolling Dordogne countryside.
It is at the end of a lane with almost no traffic, very peaceful with chestnut
woods to one side and the rear of the property.
It
is an ideal situation for walkers, nature lovers, cyclists, artists and families
alike. We are about 40 minutes drive from Limoges with it's two golf
courses, plenty of shops and it's famous porcelain manufacturers and 15 mins
from St Yrieix, famous for it's madeleines. About 10 mins away is the
historic village of Chalus where Richard the Lionheart met his death.
All around is countryside and peace and tranquility. Whilst within 2 hours is
the famous river of the Dordogne. There are local shops within 5 minutes drive
for everyday essentials and a bread van calls three times a week for those that
really don't want to leave here. There is plenty of grass for children to roam
and play on or adults to just laze on.
