in the house for you to use.
Locally you can enjoy the many fetes that happen in the
villages in the area, celebrating local culture and produce. There are
also many markets happening throughout the week. (click
here for a list).
Within 5 kilometres is Bussiere Galant with its
Velo Rail (bicycle carts on a railway track), tennis, petang courts, and
aerial run ways. Perigueux and Limoges are also close by;
recommended is lunch in a medieval square after the market. Brantome
is also a must with it's cobbled streets, cafes, Saturday market and moat.
Hire a canoe for an hour to go around the moat or take it out for the
day. There is a comprehensive guide to the local area and its markets and
activities in the house.
In terms of location, the house is situated between
Perigueux and Limoges, not far from the RN21. It takes about 7
hours from Calais if Paris is not congested. The nearest
airport is Limoges and it takes about 35 minutes to get to the
house. This makes weekend breaks possible as the Ryanair flights from
Stanstead and a number of other carriers/airports generally arrive in
the morning so you can be in the house by lunchtime having left taken off
by 10.00am. Car hire is very simple and affordable at Limoges
airport, book through providers like holiday autos and easycar before you
travel for the best deals.

The lake is also home to about 150 Original Carp,

some surprises.
